According to Guangzhou Customs statistics released on the 16th data show that January-November 2009, Guangdong has exported furniture and parts thereof 8.81 billion U.S. dollars, down 5.9% compared with same period last year. Among them, in general trade export of furniture 6.18 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 4.8%, accounting for the same period the total value of furniture exports of Guangdong 70.1%; processing trade exports 2.42 billion U.S. dollars, down 25%, accounting for 27.5%.

From January to November, Guangdong's exports to the U.S. furniture 2.97 billion U.S. dollars, down 19%; exports to the EU 1.93 billion U.S. dollars, down 8.9%, both of Guangdong's total furniture export value over the same period 55.6%. In addition, ASEAN exports of one billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 1.3 times; on the Middle East exports 740 million U.S. dollars, an increase of 14.9%. Single-November, the United States return to growth of 1.3%; to ASEAN increased by 2.8 times as large.

Shenzhen, Dongguan and Foshan City is a major exporter. The first eleven months, the Shenzhen furniture for export 2.68 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 8.6%; Dongguan exported 2.16 billion U.S. dollars, down 15.4%; Foshan exported 1.09 billion U.S. dollars, down 12.8%; the three together accounted for the same period of Guangdong's total furniture exports 67.3%.

Worth noting that the international community against China's furniture export trade protection barriers remain endless. Europe and the United States and other countries frequently introduced technical barriers to the export restrictions on the role of furniture in Guangdong is growing. This year, the United States introduced a number of successive regulations, not only a significant increase in exports to the U.S. furniture industry in Guangdong costs, it can easily be emulated by other countries and abuse, furniture exports, external pressure will be increased significantly.

Experts suggested that it should guide and encourage the export of furniture enterprises to optimize the product mix and open up new markets, to establish its own overseas sales channels, reduce dependence on European and American markets; increase for furniture products, design and technical innovation, the major markets for the consumption power decline in the actual situation, developing new products to market demand; guide the furniture industry to establish a modern management system, focusing on the process of furniture production of renewable recycling, and actively adapt to changes in major export markets regulations.
